Taylor Tomasi Hill is a present day style icon in every sense. As Accessories editor for US Marie Claire rumoured to be new fashion director for Barneys) her job is to seek out new trends in accessories taking all aspects of modern culture, runway and haute couture shows and picking the pieces that really stand out. She is a style chameleon citing Proenza Schouler, Ann Demeulemeester, and Phillip Lim and Rick Owens as favourites often mixing them with high street brands like Gap , Topshop and J Crew. The interest is always in the detail of her style. The Norma Kamali cat eye shades, the Pendelton skirt, the body chains, the lace skirt and Gap puffer jacket. It is never predictable and always totally unique. While browsing through a few images of Taylor's style I noticed she constantly has her Chanel 2.55 at her side. But at closer inspection I noticed that it is never fully closed. It hangs open in a very non chalant way.Is it because she has so much inside she can't close it or is it just another quirky way to wear it? Is Tomasi starting another trend?

MY BABY

When I grow up.....

I want a house just like Matthew Williamson's. His use of neon colour is cheery and does not overwhelm the house.

My Globes Favourites...

Angelina Jolie.
Angy usually plays it safe and sticks to black or nude colours so it was great to see her break away with this sleek Versace number in emerald green. The colour of choice for this Golden Globes. She rocked it.

Natalie Portman
I have have a new love for Natalie after Black Swan. This is a lesson in how to look hot pregnant. I adore this unusual Victor and Rolf creation....

Christina Aguilera
I can't believe I am saying I liked Christinas style but I did. I love this lacy number from Zuhair Murad. She looked sexy in a really classy way.

Golly Gosh Opening in Dublin ......

I caught up with Terence Murphy to ask him a few questions about the opening of his vintage store Golly Gosh (owned with David Jones)in Dublin, which is happening tomorrow Saturday 22nd January at 2 Crown Alley Temple Bar above Happy Days.

S:Hey Terry! So Tell me a little about how Golly Gosh came about?

T:Myself and David opened a market stall at the Blackrock markets about 2 years ago. When the summer ended we decided we really wanted to do it full time. I am originally from Waterford and know there is a really cool music and alternative scene there and thought it would be a great place to start. We were only back in Waterford a week or two when we found the perfect location and so it began.

S: You have been getting involved in other fashion projects too this year Terry, tell me about that?

T: Over the past year I've not only been working in the store but also working with Sarah Jane Hanton of beauty.ie as a stylist on vintage inspired photo shoots , the freestyle glamour market and other events in the freestyle studio. I've also worked as a stylist on a few music videos such as Solar Taxi's new single which is amazing by the way and I'm due to work with SweetJane on their new video soon.

S:What sets Golly Gosh apart from other vintage stores?

T:We cater for men and ladies and have an amazing selection from various era's! We said when we were starting off that we wanted to be different and keep our prices affordable as I believe that's what vintage is all about! It's a great feeling to find a piece you adore and then to realise you can actually afford it! I have a 70's vintage biker jacket I got for ten euros years ago and it's like a second skin! In the store we also sell one off pieces by Waterford designer Bonzie Crotty who was just voted Ireland's most influential fashion designer! Her stuff is unbelievable! We also sell Waterford artist Lisa Connolly's "stitch girl" art which is really beautiful.

S: I cannot wait to see the place, so what can we expect on your opening day?

T: We're still glue gunning pearls and flowers and pasting images all over the place but hopefully we should be ready Friday night to open our doors Saturday morning!!! We are going to have great discounts, great tunes and sweet treats for all tomorrow so please pop in!

S: I most certainly will. BEST OF LUCK GUYS xx

Missoni Psychedelia ................

A suitably psychedelic fashion video for Missoni's Ss'11 campaign featuring a star studded cast including many of the wonderful Missoni family members.
My summer wardrobe must have a beautiful missoni shawl like this one blogger The Blonde Salad is wearing in this pic. Love it.........

Bride To Be ......

image via stylebust.com

Has there been a time warp? Recently, it feels like all friends and family of my age are announcing wedding dates. And while I am so happy for them all, I am left wondering how this has happened all of a sudden. Not only that but people have started to ask me the dreaded question " So any plans for marriage and babies yourself?". No sir ee not for me not just yet. Maybe I am avoiding growing up or maybe I like being a free bee too much. Anyway I think I have a few more things I would like to do as a single female before all that. I am happy as I am !!!! But it did get me thinking. What kind of bride I would be? What dress would I choose should it be my big day? I am sure when the time comes I will be a little more conventional than I would like to think, but in my mind now this is how I would like to look! A bridal dress with a bit of tongue - in - cheek rebellion!
This is a sassy bridal look by Jeremy Scott for his S/S 11 collection.

Stolen Girlfriends Club.......

Can I love SGC anymore? This New Zealand cult label was started by ex pro surfers Marc Moore and Luke Harwood in 2005. Their idea initially was to design t shirts that their girlfriends could wear home in the morning. It has lead to a label with a youthful, rebellious and androgenous feel.
Heres a fashion video of theirs called " Weapons of Mass Seduction"
and a few images of the new Spring/ Summer collection.
Can be purchased online from Liberty, Matches and Asos.
