Take Ivy by Teruyoshi Hayashida...
This book was originally published in Japan in 1965 by four Japanese sartorial style enthusiasts. These guys were capturing style before the huge surge in style blogging the last few years. It set a huge trend in Japan of "Ivy Style" amongst the fashionable kids in Tokyo's Ginza district. It captures the distinct style of these college boys and also how these boys carry the Ivy style with them post college. With varsity jackets to be found everywhere at the moment look to these pictures for some preppy inspiration. The book has only recently been published in the US and is now available to purchase in good old Urban Outfitters. It has been a style bible for the fashionable in Japan for many years just showing they are light years ahead of us in contemporary cool!
Street Ediquette.com have made a vimeo for us with the slightly more funky prep called "Black Ivy"
