Flowers in your hair ...........

It's funny because after writing this post I realised I omitted what had inspired me to do it in the first place! I visited the amazing exhibition last week of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera's works in the Museum of Modern Art, Dublin. Kahlo became synonymous for adorning her hair with flowers and ribbons. When rifling through the many books of her life at the exhibition you realise how distinct her style was. What a beautiful, fierce woman who managed to depict such sadness and love through her paintings. They left me feeling really moved.

Someone told me there's a girl out there with love in her eyes and flowers in her hair.

Bite Plate ...................

If you follow fashion blogs for inspiration like I do you start to see some serious homogenisation of style after a while. Certain things are trendy for a time so everyone is wearing them in style posts and after a time it get's kinda boring. Fashion is supposed to be about fun and expression. I found this blog and was happily surprised to find some girls doing something completely different. Caillianne, Samantha and Chloe Beckerman are from Toronto and have amazing, wacky fabulous style. They chronicle their adventures to fleas markets, the parties they attend, cool fashion friends they are visiting but the best thing about their blog is the style posts. Showing their eclectic mix of vintage pieces mixed with some very high end designer pieces all accessorized in the totally unique Beckerman way. You will see what I mean! If you are looking for a style blog with something a little different look no further.....Beckerman Bite Plate

Bill Cunningham New York....

Here is a trailer from the new documentary by Richard Press which opened in New York last month. Press followed Bill on his rounds through the city on a rented adult tricycle with a backseat for the cinematographer. They were astounded by the energy of Bill and all his quirks as they followed him through fashion week and all the after hours parties. This man is 82 years old and he started documenting streetstyle photography almost 50 years ago working as a photgrapher for the New York Times. With such a resurged interest in the topic this documentary is a must see for anyone interested in fashion.
Anyone know the Irish release date?
