Colourful Crochet .....
Cape: 70's Vintage
Trousers: Leather Topshop
I am really loving colourful crochet at the moment. I found this really rare 70's Crochet cape in a New York vintage shop and dug it out this winter with a little inspiration from House of Holland. It has two little pom poms at the end of the strings on the front and I love the multi colours in each patch. It instantly makes me happy. Crochet print featured heavily in House of Holland's A/W'11 collection. Dresses in the collection were digitally printed with a crochet image so they were light and fluid and accessories like scarfs were made with real wool crochet. A 70's favourite, crochet was used at the time in everything from dresses, waistcoats, handbags and tops. You name it and it was crocheted! The DIY feel of crochet makes everything look more bohemian and that's what 70's fashion was all about.
If you cannot get your hands on any H of H crochet pieces and instead want to experiment with a vintage piece try add some more updated modern pieces to make the look less dated.
