Nail Wraps from the A/W Show
Sharmadean Reid, founder of Wah Nails started the nail art revolution. Her tiny little nail bar in Oxford Street's Topshop made nail art cool and suddenly we saw nails wraps of all styles and design appearing and beauty bloggers were having a field day experimenting with all the crazy designs. Soon it spilled onto the catwalk with designers Meadham Kirchhoff seeing another way to creatively express their vision. For S/S 12 they had a frilly, sweety, dolly collection. It was an ANTI collection of sorts in which they were sticking their fingers right up at how women in society are "supposed to look". To match the collection they collaborated with Nail Rock and developed some super cute nail wraps with cute bears, dolls, kittens and such. Their A/W RTW 12/13 was another insane collection inspired by the club of their fantasy. While I love the concept creatively, I don't think you could wear it together and not look like you need to be locked up! Full look would defo look great on some cute Tokyo chick but mere mortals would have to separate. Anyway getting back to the point AGAIN they had some rad nail wraps to match the collection. This time crazy little images of mushrooms, My Little Pony horsies, cats, eyes and bizarrely enough fried eggs. Their S/S 12 ones are currently on sale for around Euro 8 here on topshop.com so hopefully the A/W ones will be available to buy soon too.
